Who we are

Popreel is the collaborative celebration-video service at this website. For privacy questions, email help@milieutic.com. That's also the contact for access, deletion, and other data-protection requests.

What we collect

Depending on how you use the product:

• Account: email, name, and avatar (from Google if you use it, or what you give us), plus a user id.
• Projects: titles, event type, brief, style settings, members, roles, and invite codes.
• Characters: names, roles, reference photos (including crop data), screening results, likeness scores, and generated sheets.
• Scenes: prompts, voiceover text, style, duration, inspiration images, generated stills and clips, and version history.
• Sequence: clip order and trims, uploaded or preset audio, captions, and the rendered video.
• Wallet: balance, project funding commitments, Stripe customer id, and purchase/spend history.
• Technical: signed-in session, language preference, and client error reports (message, route, and limited context) so we can fix bugs.

How we use it

We use this data to run the product: sign you in, generate media, let collaborators work on the same project, take payment, prevent abuse, and keep the app working.

Legal bases (where GDPR or similar laws apply): performing the contract (providing the service you signed up for), legitimate interests (security, fraud, debugging, improving reliability), and legal obligation (keeping payment records).

AI providers

To screen photos and generate character sheets, keyframes, stills, and video, we send relevant uploads and prompts to models through an API gateway. Today that includes Google Gemini for vision and images, and Alibaba Wan for scene video. Providers can change as we tune quality and cost.

We strongly prefer zero-data-retention, and we turn it on whenever a provider supports it — but we can't guarantee it for every job. Providers still process the bytes to produce a result; we don't use your photos to train our own models.

Payments

Wallet top-ups go through Stripe. Stripe processes your card and related fraud checks. We store a Stripe customer id and the amount credited — not your full card number. See Stripe's own privacy policy for how they handle payment data.

Cookies and analytics

We use a small set of cookies and similar tech:

• Essential session cookies from Supabase Auth (signed-in state, about 8 hours, Secure, SameSite=Lax).
• A language cookie (i18n_redirected) so the site stays in the locale you picked.
• Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights for aggregated traffic and performance — not advertising, and not sold to data brokers.

Who we share with

We don't sell your personal data. We share it with processors who help us run the app:

• Supabase — authentication, database, and media storage.
• Vercel — hosting and analytics.
• Stripe — wallet purchases.
• AI model providers (via an API gateway) — generation and photo screening.
• Other members of a project you joined — they can see project content. Premiere-link viewers see only the finished video if they have the password.

How long we keep it

Account and project content stay until you delete your account or the project is removed. Archived projects keep scenes, characters, and billing history so the ledger still makes sense.

We keep payment and spend records as long as we need them for accounting, tax, and fraud. Error logs are kept only as long as they're useful for debugging.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to complain to a data-protection authority.

The fastest deletion path is Settings → Delete account. For anything else, email help@milieutic.com. We'll need enough information to confirm it's you.

Children

Popreel is not for anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect account data from children. Character photo screening rejects images that appear to show a minor alone. If you think we have data we shouldn't, email help@milieutic.com and we'll remove it.

International transfers

Our processors may store or process data in the United States and other countries. If we transfer personal data out of the UK/EEA/Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the processors' standard contractual clauses or equivalent.

Closing your account

Deleting your account removes your login and profile. Projects you organized with remaining members continue under a new organizer. Solo projects are archived. Media in a continuing project stays so the group can finish the video.

Unspent wallet funds are not paid out automatically. Contact us before you delete if that matters.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top will change. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect for new processing.
